MICHELLE IS TURNING 40

Saturday March 13 2021

ON A BOAT

Why? I like boats. They’re fun.
Where? Departing from Southgate Lower Promenade (opposite the Southgate building entrance)
When? Boarding from 6.30pm. Cast off at 7pm.
What? The boat will meander up and down the river, floating in a very chill, cruisey boat-like manner. There will be drinks and snacks. We’ll return to Southgate at 8pm, where we’ll then travel on up to the Bar. Mode of transport between Boat and Bar is up to you; I’ll probably walk. Maybe get a tram? Or a cab if I’m feeling especially lazy.

IN A BAR

Why? Bars are also fun. Good for a party.
Where? Bomba at103 Lonsdale Street, on the rooftop.
When? 8.30pm til late
What? Chatting, laughing, gazing upon the city lights, drinking and eating delicious finger food- the usual antics. Maybe some dancing later in the night. We’ll see.

RSVP

Please RSVP by March 3rd via our usual method of communication (SMS, WhatsApp, FB Messenger, whatever.) You can also use this email button if you’re into that.

EMAIL

If you can’t make it to the Boat, feel free to come to the Bar later on. Please just let me know in your RSVP if you’re boating or not!
And same goes for food- vego, vegan, sans-gluten, etc? Let me know!

DRESS CODE

This is genuinely up to you. Wear what makes you feel comfy and awesome. Just so you know, I am getting dressed UP. It’s my 40th and I’m going all out. I’ve bought a new dress, I’ll probably wear heels (at least at the beginning of the night), I’m getting my hair done and my nails fancified. Please do the same if you want to- put on a tux or a ballgown or your wedding dress if you want to get some more wear out of it. And if you want to wear trackies and ugg boots, please do that- I just want us all to feel comfortable and amazing and have a good time.

GIFTIES

Instead of spending money, I was hoping you all might be willing to make me a single paper flower, and sign your name on it. I’ll attach them all to sticks to make a bouquet, and put them in a vase at home so that I can look at them and smile and be all sentimental ‘n shit.
Use whatever paper you have lying around the house, even bills or catalogues. Make it yourself, make your kids do it, whatever works.

Here is a link to a YouTube tutorial I found which seems easy enough (fair warning- this one requires you to make five separate petals and then glue/tape them together); or if you’re crafty, come up with something yourself. Hey, even a scrunched up ball of paper kinda looks like a carnation, right? Or just a flower shape cut out of a piece of paper will do nicely!

(And if you really don’t want to make a flower, that’s cool. A nice birthday hug will also be fine!)

I hope you can make it! ❤️
